Sodium Hydroxide

Sodium Hydroxide also known as Lye, NaOH, Caustic Soda,  has many uses.  It is a necessary ingredient in making soap bars, in both hot processed and cold processed methods.   It can also be used a PH buffer in cosmetics, as well as an additive in certain cleaners.

Sodium Hydroxide is very caustic.  It is vitally important that you follow all safety precautions when working with sodium hydroxide.  Wear protective clothing, safety glasses, gloves and be in a well ventilated area.
